Gerindra Wants to Help Jokowi Give a System to Supervise e-KTP
"Gerindra requested that the government conduct a comprehensive internal audit. Then also build a system through IT (information technology). IT is cheap. If the government does not have a budget, Gerindra will finance the making of IT software for supervision and control," said Gerindra DPP Chairman Ahmad Riza Patria at the Parliament building, Senayan, Jakarta, Wednesday (12/12/2018).
According to Riza, data about the e-KTP up to now is not clear. He said the government could never provide an explanation of the number of people who had not recorded e-KTP.
"Why can't the government explain to the public how many blanks are printed, how many are distributed in each district, sub-district and village. How many are left and invalid, we have never known," he said.
"Just know the number of people who have recorded, and how many have received e-KTP. The rest we don't know," continued Riza.
Therefore, the Deputy Chairperson of the House of Representatives Commission II encouraged the establishment of an e-KTP control system. The reason, said Riza, is that the e-KTP is the most important sign of identity.
"It (the system) is very simple. The public can know how many e-KTPs have been printed, which are distributed, then which are invalid. That way, I am sure nothing will happen again," he explained.
"Identity KTP. Moreover, this is single identity. So it must be made accurate, clear, and transparent," continued Riza.
Besides in Duren Sawit, East Jakarta, around 1,000 e-KTPs were found again in Kota Pariaman, West Sumatra, today. Disdukcapil Padang Pariaman admitted that there were officers who were careless.
"This problem is the negligence of our officers, because they put the unused e-KTP into the sack," said Secretary of the Population and Civil Registration Office of Padang Pariaman Regency, Martoni.
