According to the minister from Pangandaran, West Java, Indonesia's fisheries policy has produced concrete evidence.
Susi assessed that Indonesia is very worthy of being taken into account in the tuna business. FAO official data through SOFIA in 2016 there were 7.7 million metric tons of tuna and species such as tuna were captured throughout the world.
In that year, Indonesia supplied more than 16 percent of total world production with the average production of Indonesian tuna, skipjack and tuna reaching more than 1.2 million tons per year.
Meanwhile, Indonesia's tuna export volume as quoted from data submitted by the Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries, reached 198,131 tons with a value of 659.99 million US dollars in 2017.
